# The Same Signal, Different Responses

**Musical Interval Example:** The minor sixth interval demonstrates how identical acoustic stimuli create opposing responses:

**Gospel Tradition Response:**

* Cultural association: spiritual transcendence and communal connection
* Physiological: heart rate elevation, postural opening, possible endorphin release
* Behavioral: vocal participation, physical swaying, emotional expression

**Horror Film Context Response:**

* Cultural association: unease and supernatural threat
* Physiological: defensive muscle tension, amygdala activation, stress hormone release
